Afro House Fusion with Sheila will draw from Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, and movement of the African Diaspora including House Dance. All levels of movers are welcome and will be seen and nurtured in this class. Movers will hone physical health, build movement vocabulary, and respond to improvisational prompts to express their personal narratives. Through brief check in, warm up, across the floor, movement drills, choreography, freestyle and cool down, we will cultivate a healing environment both internally and externally in which movers feel safe and curious about how they “be” in this life/world. |
Haitian Folkloric Dance with Portsha is a high energy class in celebration of a rich, spiritual tradition. A dance experience guaranteed to UPLIFT, INSPIRE & INFORM! Representing various nations such as Mayi, Ibo and Nago, each dance has its own distinctive character, choreography and spirit. You will experience the meditative Yanvalou, the fiery rhythms of Petwo, to the playful and celebratory dances of Banda and Rara. Youth/Teen Hip Hop with Jamar Welch is a weekly Hip Hop class specifically for youth & teens, ages 8-18! "Hip House Soul" is Jamar's signature dance style. A fusion of Jamar's favorite dance styles combined, it encompasses old to new school hip house, house style footwork (with some tap influence), and classic R&B boy band choreography (think New Edition, Jackson 5, Backstreet Boys, etc.). |
Golden hour flow yoga with Paige is aimed to release stress and tension. During this hour long gentle yoga class, we’ll explore a brief meditation, breathing exercises, stretches, poses and themes that reflect the Golden Hour before the sun fully sets. Please bring water, a yoga mat, blocks, and any other items you feel you’ll need for your yoga practice. Looking forward to flowing with you. |
Afrofusion with Yeni Lucero is the KKDE company community dance class that empowers the individual to own their movement expression through the lens of Afro-Dance; Afrobeats, Afrohouse, Amapiano, Traditional West African Dance along with Contemporary (Dunham/Limon) & Hip-Hop. Ms. Lucero begins with a rich slow warm up followed by drills/ and footwork across the floor. Movement that introduces the student to the choreography they are learning. Ms. Lucero focuses on the delivery of content, a connection of mind and body. In addition takes time to explain and deliver the origin of the dances she is fusing so there’s contextual mindfulness and respect to African Dance. This class is INT/ADV but beginners are welcome to try. Ms. Lucero has taught all levels and know how to deliver to all learners. |
Hip Hop Contemporary with Dej is an Int/Adv Class for all of my ladies in the Bay Area. If you are an aspiring professional dancer, have very little dance experience, need something fun to get your body moving or just want to feel sexy this class is for you! Heels are optional! |
Lyrical Hip Hop with Anthony is a class that is focused on smooth, contemporary hip hoot some of your favorite R&B and Hip Hop tracks. My choreography is a fusion of street jazz and hip hop with a focus on performance and syncopated rhythms. |
Dunham Technique with Eyla is a holistic modern dance technique combining mind, body & spirit. The movement in Dunham comes from ballet, modern and African diasporic forms specifically Haitian Dance. Class will build upon itself beginning center floor, followed by Dunham Barre work (space permitting), progress across the floor and end with a movement combination that will bring all the elements we will work on in class together! All levels are welcome. Some dance experience preferred. |
Reggae Ballet with Linda will explore traditional and non-traditional ballet concepts focusing primarily on body alignment, musicality, terminology/language, and body/breath connection set to the feel good vibes of reggae music.Beginner Ballet class will focus more on alignment/positions, breath, terminology, and body connection via a simple barre and abbreviated centre. |
Rhythm Tap with Chi Chi introduces students to the basics of rhythm tap dance. Students learn the primary tap steps, various time step combinations, classic tap patterns and acapella rhythms. The class also incorporates beginning techniques for tap dance improvisation with & without music. |
